Tra Vinh lauched the day that women start up their businesses

On March 4, at the hall of the Provincial Party Committee, the Women's Union of Tra Vinh province held a ceremony to launch the day that women start up their businesses, supported resources for the contest of creative start - up ideas and praised women’s start - up movement. Mr. Nguyen Trung Dung - the Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee - the Head of the Committee of Public Relations - the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, representatives of provincial departments and sectors, and over 100 officials of Women's Union at all levels attended the ceremony.

At the launching ceremony, the leaders of the Women's Union of Tra Vinh province stated clearly that supporting women in starting a business was one of the key and thorough tasks of the Women's Union at all levels in the period of 2016 - 2021. Accordingly, the Association has strengthened the implementation of the Prime Minister's Decision No. 939 in 2017 on the approval of the Project "Supporting women to start their businesses in the period of 2017-2025" and Guidelines No. 9, 2017 of the Central President of the Vietnam Women's Union on guiding the implementation of the project "Supporting women to start their businesses in the period of 2017-2025 ". The goals are that by 2025, 90 percent of officials from the provincial to grassroots levels will raise awareness and methods to support women in starting and developing their businesses; 70 percent of women members will disseminate and raise awareness about jobs and start-ups; support 400 women to start businesses; coordinate and support the establishment of 20 women-managed cooperatives.


In the two years 2017-2018, the Provincial Women's Union focused on organizing more than 40 activities related to starting businesses such as: capacity building for reporters, communicators and officials of Associations at all levels; organizing many workshops to share experiences about starting businesses and displaying products; participating in connecting and introducing start-up products of female enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City; learning the experience of establishing and operating business clubs for women entrepreneurs in the province and cities. In addition, two new cooperative-owned women and 15 cooperative groups were established under the Decree 151, the total number of cooperatives managed by women has been 161 so far.



Tra Vinh Provincial Women's Union gave funds to five individuals with creative ideas and high prizes at the contest of developing the idea of starting businesses in the province.


On this occasion, Tra Vinh Provincial Women's Union has granted VND 190 million to five individuals with creative ideas and high prizes at the contest of developing ideas of starting businesses in the province; at the same time, awarded certificates of merit to 30 individuals who actively participated in the movement of women start-ups and women in economic development in 2018.
