Co Chien Bridge is designed as a 1.599km permanent concrete pre-stressed bridge with designed capacity: live load HL-90; 4-lane carriageway measuring 16m in width; designed speed of 80Km/h; 24 spans (each span is 40m long); navigational clearance height of 25m and 120m in width.
Total capital for Co Chien Bridge project is 2.308 billion VND, of which 1.264 billion VND is from investor and the rest one is National capital. Ministry of Transport is investor; Project 7 Management Board is representative. The construction will be built in 29 months.
Co Chien Bridge, Rach Mieu Bridge and Ham Luong Bridge (Ben Tre) will connect National Road 69 from Tien Giang to Tra Vinh province, and shorten 70km of the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Tra Vinh.
On behalf of leaders of the 2 provinces, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong – Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh People’s Committee affirmed that Co Chien Bridge satisfied expectation of people of the 2 provinces. It would promote regional socio-economic development and social security, and attract more investors. He acknowledged contribution of residents at the construction area for implementing provincial policy in site clearance. Therefore, the roads leading to the bridge were done successfully.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phong also promised to coordinate with investor and relevant parties to make best condition and solve problems on site clearance to ensure progress.
On the occasion, he asked investors and relevant parties to promote progress and put the construction into operation as soon as possible and enhance invested capital using effectiveness; manage construction quality and beauty.
