Xom Day fishery process village


Xom Day fishery process village at Dong Hai commune, Duyen Hai district was recognized under Decision N0. 1712/QD-UBND dated on September 11, 2009 of Tra Vinh province People’s Committee. 

Dong Hai is a coastal commune in the South of Duyen Hai district with natural area of 4.384,98 ha, of which fishery area occupies 2.555 ha, makes up over 58%. Local people earn by exploiting, processing and breeding fishery, so Xom Day village is founded. At first, local people exploited, processed and consumer by themselves.  After that, because of high demand of market in and outside the province, many businesses bought fresh fishery and hired labors to process and consume. As a result, the village developed strongly with main products like dried shrimp, dried fish and fish fertilizer. 365/745 households at Dong Cao and Dinh An hamlet buy and process fishery (46,8%), and draw about 1.000 labors. The village was chosen to participate in contests and got prize for typical product of the South with product Tien Hai dried shrimp.
