The final round of the Contest of Start-up Ideas in Students in 2019

Tra Vinh Start-up Consultancy Group, led by Mr. Tran Anh Dung - Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh (TV) People's Committee, coordinated with Tra Vinh University to organize the final round of the Contest of Start-up Ideas in Students in 2019 in the afternoon of Oct 6th.

This year's contest, candidates registered online exam from 6 – 16 Jun, 2019, the subjects were alumni of Tra Vinh University loving startup activities, having ideas to start production, business and service provision in the fields of economics, law, agriculture, fishery, engineering, technology, tourism, applied chemistry, art and culture, …

By Jun 16, 2019, 30 projects were in the semi-final round and 11 projects in the final one. In the final round, the contestants presented and defended their ideas in front of the judges to persuade the judges - investors. Each candidate had 20 minutes to present and answer the critical questions of the judges.

In the final round, the organizers awarded the first, second and third prizes for authors with excellent start-up ideas. In particular, the first prize belonged to the author group of students Tran Phuoc Dat (team leader) of the project of automatic control and monitoring water fan system for shrimp pond; the second prize for Pham An Duong Khang, the project of Biological products containing zinc nanoparticles for preventing fungi and bacteria on plants, the third prize for Luong Manh Duong, the project of Ngoc Tuu coconut wine product.

The contest created conditions for students to apply their knowledge into practice, guided students to meaningful activity of learning about business, had the opportunity to experience reality to summarize experiences, knowledge about business, to build ideas and find a career path in the future.

The competition contributed to creating jobs for students of Tra Vinh University from successful start-up projects. It promoted the start-up spirit of young people, especially students who have discovered and incubated creative ideas and products. Feasible startup projects were selected to participate in a higher-level star-tup competition.
