Tra Vinh has first advanced new rural commune

Tra Vinh (TV) Provincial People's Committee has just decided to recognize Long Duc Commune in TV City to meet the advanced new rural standard in 2019 (the period 2018 to 2020). This is the first advanced new rural commune in TV Province. Previously, Long Duc was also the first new rural commune in TV Province in 2013, it was selected by TV Provincial People's Committee as the direction area to build new rural communes in the period 2011 to 2015.

Long Duc is the only commune in TV City with natural area of nearly 4,000 hectares and more than 18,000 people. The commune has mobilized a total resources of nearly VND 1,448 billion to carry out socio - economic development activities and improve living standards for people, in which the locality focused on solutions to income improvement and poverty reduction, since it implemented the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. Per capita income of the commune is 54.6 million VND/ person/ year, it increases nearly VND 40 million/ person/ year compared to 2013. 

Mr. Huynh Kim Nhan, Manager of Rural Development Branch, Deputy Chief of Coordination Office on New Rural Areas said TV Province has 57 communes meeting new rural standards, 7 communes reaching 15 to 18 criteria and 21 communes reaching 10 to 14 criteria. In addition to Long Duc Commune, the whole province has 5 communes that are being appraised dossiers to consider 20 criteria according to this standard; in which, Tan Hung Commune in Tieu Can District is submitting to Chairman of TV Provincial People's Committee to sign the Decision for Recognition.
