On the night of October 20, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports (Sports and Sports), in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tra Vinh province, held the opening ceremony of the final round of the national Grade A volleyball tournament in 2022.

Attending were Mr. Kien Quan, Provincial Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Duong Hoang Sum, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and leaders of provincial departments and branches. On the side of the General Department of Sports was Mr. Dao Xuan Chung, Head of the Volleyball Department and Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation.

The final round of the national A-class volleyball tournament in 2022 will be hosted by Tra Vinh province, bringing together nearly 200 athletes from 8 men's volleyball teams and 5 women's volleyball teams from domestic areas, cities, and industries. The tournament matches will start from October 20th to October 28th at Tra Vinh Provincial Gymnasium.

 

The men's volleyball tournament is divided into two groups. In Group A, there are 4 teams: Military Sports Center, Mobile Police Command, Military Region 3, and home team Tra Vinh. Meanwhile, Group B consists of 4 teams: Da Nang, Phu Tho Public Security, Ho Chi Minh City Police, and Sanets - Sana Khanh Hoa. All teams will play a round-robin tournament in each group to select the top 2 teams to enter the semi-finals and final to determine the first-place team to be promoted to the National Championship in the 2023 season.

 

In the women's tournament, there are 5 teams: Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, and Nghe An. The teams will compete in a round-robin for 1 ranking point, after which the 2 first and second-placed teams will compete in the final to determine the first-place team to be promoted in the 2023 season.

The women's final is expected to take place at 18:00 on October 27th; The men's final and the closing ceremony will take place at 8 pm on October 28th at the provincial sports hall.

Tra Vinh's volleyball team played the opening match with the CSCD Command.

 On the opening night, the volleyball team of Tra Vinh province had an opening match against the Mobile Police Command team, the seed team of Group A. The game was dramatic and highly specialized. As a result, the Tra Vinh volleyball team won the Mobile Police Command with a score of 3-0, which delighted the fans who came to watch and cheer for the home team at the provincial sports hall.
